I’m back from Comic Con and it was awesome! I got to sell a bunch of stuff I made and I didn’t even have to trick anyone. I learned a few things while I was there, which was pretty sweet. 1. If you ever feel “nerdy”, the Comic Con carnies will let you see that you are in fact far from it. It’s kinda like when you say “I’m starving to death” and somebody responds with there are starving people in Africa. There is a standard deviation for weird on the day to day, but at special events like the Con, weird spikes dramatically. 2. At Comic Con there are tons of gorgeous women and many are dressed in very revealing garb. On any given day if I were to meet these women in the real world and try and pick up on one, they would probably laugh and blow me off, but the amazing thing about Comic Con is that these women who are willing to dress in such extremes are obviously not in the spectrum of sanity from which I like to date. So at Comic Con, I get to say Nay Nay to hot women!
I was fortunate enough to share a booth with some awesome mentors/ friends. Mark Todd and Esther Pearl Watson did a majority of the setup before I even got there and had a ton of awesome loot to pedal. They pretty much gave me some shelter from my other two booth mates Jordan Crane and Johnny Ryan. If I ever had an older brother, I would imagine him to be just like Jordan. Basically Jordan teased the living hell out of me and everything that I did while Johnny Ryan stood back like an older brother’s best friend, smirking and saying “nice one”. At one point, I was talking to a girl in front of the booth and they all took turns sneaking up behind me and putting post-its on my back with such clever phrases such as “rape my mouth” and “I’m so gassy”. Good times. But guess what? You guys may be teasing me now, but I’ve been drinking milk and in a few years…. blah blah blah. Let’s face it, in a few years they will still be teasing me. One victory I did find is that Jordan nor Johnny liked to be hugged in private or public. It’s their Kryptonite, so every act of bullying that I endured, no matter how miniscule, was rewarded with open affection. Unfortunately I did not learn this skill until the end of the event.
I made a bunch of prints, some new and some older stuff with some changes. I’m making them available to purchase here on my site. Take a look. I hope you enjoy. Oh and I also plan on being at A.P.E. in San Fransisco this year to make people buy stuff from me. If you are available, come by say hello and allow me to make you buy my loot.
